Teleport—Fashion Thrifting App 12+

Tik Tok... wait for it... couture

Occasionally, if you’re lucky, you’ll come across an app that just makes sense. You open it for the first time and you immediately get it. Teleport did just that. It took shopping and made it hyper personal. So personal that these recommendations aren’t shrouded by “influencers” and “brand deals”. People just recommend the products they love, use, and wear everyday. If I buy something from one of their videos, they make a small commission. That seems like a fair and honest way to incentivize authenticity. For example, there’s this watch I’m obsessed with called the Withings. Tracks my heart rate and steps but looks like a luxurious (non techy) watch. I can make a video flashing it, talking about it, running with it, etc. I grab a link for it from somewhere on the web, I add it to Teleport, and like magic, people can now buy the watch through my video and I make a small cut.

I know this app is super young (i haven’t purchased anything), but for it to be this polished already is astonishing, and the community is growing pretty quickly too. Pretty fun to just peruse through videos.

Great for reselling, thrifting, and learning new trends

I have been reselling since 2019 I started on Facebook but have had lots of issue with glitches and support from FB. I also sell on Depop but the fees are so high and hard to find good deals as a shopper.

I discovered teleport on tiktok and it was advertised as Depop meets TikTok which really is the best description. It’s so much fun you can scroll and see unique outfits plus buy pieces that are tagged. There are no crazy fees which leads to lower prices. As a seller it takes me a lot less time to list items and I can showcase items a lot easier by using videos to sell. You can choose a song for each outfit which is really fun. There’s a great community and lots of positivity.

I’m currently selling on 3 formats and teleport has been the most successful for me. I tell everyone I know about it because I think it will start becoming a big competitor with other selling platforms and think everyone should give it a try if they love thrifting and sharing their thrift finds.

Changes needed

Let me start off by saying this app is great, and I highly recommend it, but a few changes could make it soooooo much better! The fact the users can only recommend four things when styling is vry dumb and unrealistic. Another change that I believe could rlly help improve this app is a option to use the phones back camera when modeling outfits. Not only would this make users more comfortable posting fits, but would also help to show the pieces of clothing better! Another change that would be very beneficial to users would be the option to just post photos of the outfits (to not be forced to take a video of each pice of clothing) this would make many users more comfortable posting more looks! Or even to be able to take one video showing lots of different looks.

Lastly, the more people on the app (the more popular it is) would mean more for users to do and more styles being sent. A great way to draw attention to this app is if there way more of a way to connect it to Instagram, wear people would also be posting different outfits!
Overall tho this is a great app and the idea is awesome!
